Nothing tests the fortitude of Man’s spirit more than a time of crisis. And, with the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen how numerous innovators amongst our midst have risen to address this unprecedented challenge. Expeditiously innovating products to tackle the public health crisis, they leveraged on their deep technical knowledge to direct their expertise concertedly for humanitarian outcomes. The ability to do so is not fortuitous, but through protracted effort invested during times of comfort and security. Key amongst these are steps implemented by companies for maintaining oversight of their intellectual property (IP), through frameworks such as collaboration and licensing agreements which allow them to remain nimble in the face of rapid and unexpected challenges whilst continuing to maintain the ability to secure and enforce their legal rights.
In this 10th Community of Practice on IP Management, join us as we celebrate our innovators and their innovations which have been a beacon of light in these dark times. As we hear their inspiring stories, may it galvanize in us a deeper respect for intellectual property whose chief end has always been for the betterment of human lives.
